Steve's well-rounded educational background, which includes a Liberal Arts degree after successfully attending Louisburg College, Willam & Mary and VCU, provided great training for a successful career in business; first as owner of "Freda" a popular ladies' specialty store, and currently as 1/2 of the Melanie & Steve Lapkin Team. Steve's athletic achievements including competitive surfing, scholastic sports and championship racquetball, give the Lapkin Team a competitive advantage during crucial negotiations. His, zealous advocacy, superior sales technique and enthusiastic perserverance are characteristics that contribute to the team's current status as "Top Producers", even during a soft real estate climate.

Steve spends his free time golfing, working out, and preparing lavish gourmet meals for his family and friends. He also donates time, volunteering at Special Olympics, which is a portion of his lifelong commitment as an advocate for special needs children.

Steve's most special moment was running the Richmond Marathon with his son Herbie, who holds the distinction of being the youngest entrant in the history of the Richmond Marathon, at 8 months of age!
